What makes our custom eyewear different from a traditional optical store?
We design and make our own frames directly in our workshop in Vieux-Hull, Gatineau. Instead of choosing from hundreds of imported models, you can take part in creating eyewear that reflects your style, your face and your personality.
Do you really make the frames on site?
Yes. Every frame is designed, machined and polished in our workshop using high-quality cellulose acetate. You can even see part of the process during your visit.
Can I choose the colours?
Absolutely.
We offer dozens of acetate sheets in a wide variety of colours, patterns and transparencies. You choose the ones you like, and we help you select the colours that best complement your face.
Do I have to order a custom-made frame?
No.
We also make our own ready-to-wear collection, designed and produced in our workshop. You can choose your preferred frame design and then select a colour from our range of acetates.
Are custom-made frames much more expensive?
Not necessarily.
The final price depends mainly on the frame and lenses you choose. Many clients are surprised to discover that locally handcrafted eyewear can remain very competitive compared with major luxury brands.
How long does it take to make my glasses?
The timeframe varies depending on the time of year, but you should generally allow a few weeks for us to make your frame, fit your lenses and complete all quality-control checks.
We focus on craftsmanship and quality rather than mass production.
Can I use my current prescription?
Yes.
If your prescription is still valid, we can make your new glasses using it.
Do you offer eye exams?
We work closely with optometrists, but eye examinations are performed by them.
What types of lenses do you offer?
We offer a complete range of prescription lenses, including single-vision, progressive, sun and specialized lenses.
Our selection includes Nikon lenses as well as our Sélection atelier line, which offers excellent value for money.
Can you put new lenses in my existing frames?
In some cases, yes.
If your frames are in suitable condition, we may be able to replace the lenses. We will inspect the frame first before recommending this option.
Can you repair my glasses?
Yes.
We perform many types of repairs and adjustments. The best way to find out whether a repair is possible is to bring your glasses to the workshop so we can examine them.
What happens if I don’t like my new frame?
Your satisfaction is very important to us.
If the frame is not right for you, we will work with you to make another one in a different design or colour. Our goal is for you to leave with glasses you genuinely enjoy wearing.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes.
All of our frames are covered against manufacturing defects. We also offer warranty protection for prescription changes under certain conditions.

Why don’t you sell your glasses online?
Because we believe choosing the right frame deserves personal attention.
Face shape, proportions, colour and comfort cannot be properly evaluated on a screen. Our goal is to create eyewear that truly suits you, and that begins with meeting you in person.
Do I need a prescription before visiting the workshop?
No. You are welcome to visit us even if you do not have a prescription yet. We can discuss frames, colours and custom options, and you can bring your prescription later when you are ready to order your lenses.
